These programs will be started in the very near future, so please be sure that WMUD has your current telephone numbers and email addresses!
New Programs WMUD has approved to assist its customers:
NEXBILLPAY – This program works with WMUD’s billing program and will allow customers to pay their water/sewer bills using credit cards, debit cards or echecks. Customers will set up a log-in where they can view their account balance and water usage history for up to twelve months. It has the ability to send customers’ courtesy notices through text messages and/or email that the bill is available, the bill is due, the bill is past due, etc. Customers will be able to call a 1-800 number on weekends and holidays and be able to post payments. It will send customers a text receipt or an email receipt. This program also has “IVR” which is a voice activated service so people can call in and have their payment posted instead of using text messaging or email.
SERVLINE – This is leak insurance for customers. It will begin by customers seeing a $2.00 (or less) charge on their water/sewer bill for up to $2,500.00 insurance coverage in the event of a leak. Customers can opt out of the program if they do not wish coverage. For those who keep the coverage, if you have a leak that causes a high water/sewer bill, you would notify WMUD that you are going to file a claim with SERVLINE. WMUD would calculate your average bill, based on the past three months usage, and you would pay that amount and then file a claim with SERVLINE, who pays the additional amount due to WMUD. You would need to provide SERVLINE with proof (i.e., receipts) that you fixed the leak and you can only file once a year. NOTE: West Madison Utility District did not enact this program as only four (4) customers wanted the insurance and this is not enough for SERVLINE to consider as adequate for the service.
